Director of IT
We are recruiting for a Director of IT to lead AFG on our journey to become a digitally empowered organisation. Our director will deliver a step change in our IT capability and architecture so that AFG can deliver our vision - we will need to replace solutions that no longer meet our needs, implement new technologies to join up our systems and ensure we have the data we need to run the charity, and strengthen the IT team’s capability to deliver change at pace and scale.
We are continuing to strive towards a fully integrated, agile and cloud-based infrastructure, working as a paperless, digitally-working and information-led organisation. Developing our ambition to provide technology enhanced services and support models that enrich the lives of the people we support and increase their independence.
Our mission - To deliver outstanding personalised support that creates independence and value.
Our vision - A world where amazing people do amazing things every day.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do:
We raise the bar
We learn from the past, are adaptive and excited by our future. We innovate and lead the way. We strive for best quality with least waste. Better never stops.
We are one
We succeed together with a shared purpose and vision. We inspire others, take pride in what we do and trust each other. We all have a part to play.
Every person matters
We are people focused and value skills, gifts and potential. We listen. How people think and feel matters; everyone has a voice.
We take ownership
We do the right thing, are solution focused and get results. We are responsible for our behaviour and hold each other to account.
We make a positive difference
We change lives. Our ‘can do’ attitude and passion enables people to be the best they can be.
Our experience
Alternative Futures Group was founded by Matthew Clarke in 1992 to support people with complex needs to live independently in the community, in a move away from institutional and isolated hospital settings.
Starting as a small organisation in Liverpool, we have now grown into one of the largest health and social care charities in the North West.
We offer a range of specialist support across our learning disability and mental health divisions, from our six independent mental health hospitals to our supported living and community outreach services.
We’re proud to be recognised in a range of national awards each year, from our innovative work in learning and development, to our exceptional person-centred care and beyond.
Our support is tailored to meet the specific needs of every individual, while creating positive connections and value in local communities.
We are a specialist provider of support for people with a learning disability or mental health condition, as well as other additional needs or conditions such as autism, acquired brain injury or a physical disability.
Depending on the level of support, we provide services for people in their own homes, our residential properties, independent hospitals and adult care homes. We support around 900 people in over 300 locations across the North West. We employ over 2,000 people with 1,800 of those dedicated to providing outstanding support
