EVENT OVERCOMING BARRIERS

Overcoming barriers to reading - Making reading real
Free CPD event with author Bali Rai

We are delighted to invite you to our next free CPD event – “Overcoming Barriers to Reading – Making Reading Real” – A Workshop led by Bali Rai in conjunction with Hays Education and All Around Reading.

An increasing body of research evidence points to the value of reading for pleasure to improve attainment overall and for student's personal well-being. Barriers to reading need to be overcome. Find out about the latest research on representation in publishing for young people and the impact that this can have. Award winning author Bali Rai shares his personal perspective and expertise in writing accessible texts.

This free session is open to teachers and anyone else working in a school supporting reading & literacy. We will be looking at issues around accessibility and representation of BAME amongst other things in relation to reading.
