Deputy Headteacher opportunity
Will Adams Centre
Apply now
Welcome
Thank you for taking the time to look at our school.
I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of a school where all staff are passionate about ensuring that all students have the opportunity to be the best person that they can possibly be. In fact, many ex-students have said that without the school they would not be in the positive place in their lives that they are now, many describing the school as the family they haven’t had.
We offer alternative provision with a firm focus on supporting, engaging and raising the aspirations of every student. All students work towards achieving meaningful qualifications that will lead to relevant next steps and a post 16 pathway. Running alongside the academic/vocational qualifications, students work towards the PIXL Alternative Edge qualification and the whole school is underpinned by the rights respecting ethos of UNICEF. This year we became the first secondary PRU to achieve UNICEF RRS Gold status, something we are extremely proud of.
We offer a truly inclusive school, where the students’ needs come first. We work hard to offer wrap around support to families, encouraging them to have the confidence to make better-informed choices and work together with agencies and us, to make a real difference in their lives. Due to the vulnerabilities of our students and their families, safeguarding expectations and practices are at the highest level and are regularly reviewed to maintain best practice.
Students work hard to achieve their qualifications, often arriving late in year 10 or early in year 11. Staff ensure that all students work to the best of their ability and the low number of NEETs is testimony to the care offered at all levels.
If you are as motivated by this opportunity as we hope you will be, please contact our recruitment advisor, Martin Blair at Hays Leadership (T: 07736791138, E: martin.blair@hays.com) for an informal conversation, to arrange a visit to the school or discuss making an application for the role.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your interest in our school.
Yours faithfully,
Karen Bennett
Headteacher
