The role
Head Teacher Group 6
Leadership Scale L31-L35
Starting September 2022
Finham Park Multi Academy Trust is delighted to announce that we are recruiting a Headteacher for Whitley Academy for September 2022. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to shape the immediate and long-term future for the school, supported by a close-knit community of other Headteachers and colleagues across the Trust.
Whitley Academy is a larger than average 11-18 secondary school serving communities around Whitley, Cheylesmore and Willenhall in Coventry. The school was judged as requiring Special Measures in January 2020, following a decline in standards since 2015 when it was previously ‘Outstanding’. Since taking over the school, the Trust CEO and other colleagues have established strong governance and leadership structures that are now bringing about rapid school improvement.
Staff and students are extremely positive about the future and there is a developing ‘can-do’ culture following the disappointments and immediate impacts of the Ofsted 2020 judgement. The school has a PAN of 180 and the potential to grow Sixth Form provision over the next few years as part of a Trust-wide strategy. It is our belief that Whitley Academy will become a learning community to rival the best on a national and international stage in the future. The successful candidate will lead Whitley Academy and continue the drive to become a “World Class” school where all students have the times of their lives!
We are looking to appoint a charismatic, dynamic individual with exceptional leadership skills, who naturally inspires others and is passionate about teaching and its impact on learning. The successful candidate will be driven by a commitment to create the best possible educational opportunities for our students, in order to raise aspirations and transform lives.
Finham Park Multi Academy Trust is seeking a Headteacher who will:
- be an already experienced and successful leader with the potential to become “World Class”; a willing and capable learner who is able to articulate a vision for the school and who will inspire and empower others to share in achieving it
- have a determination to consolidate improvement, build on strengths and lead the school to even greater success
- inspiring positive attitudes and motivating students and staff, ensuring all are valued and supported to be the best they can be
- be passionate about making a difference for every child
- have a strong presence, maintaining and developing excellent relationships between staff, governors, parents, students and the wider community
- be committed to becoming involved at a strategic level in the development and growth of our Multi Academy Trust – unique in it’s ambition to promote co-construction at all levels with the Executive Headteacher and other colleagues from the Trust and its schools.
We welcome enquiries from both serving Headteachers and experienced Deputy Headteachers and are happy to arrange informal, confidential discussions or visits to the School. Should you be interested in either of these options, please contact our recruitment partner Chris Gartner from Hays Leadership on 07595 646 645 or via email to chris.gartner@hays.com
To apply, please read our pack before providing a full application form along with the equal opportunities form. Please ensure your supporting statement sets out why you feel that you are suitable for this role and includes demonstrable impact of your leadership and achievements.
