Salary and Pay Scales
University salaries are aligned with the National Payscale and annual incremental progression to the top of each pay band is offered, subject to satisfactory performance.
Pension

Child care
Campus Kids Day Nursery provides childcare for children aged 3 months to 5 years. It is open daily from 0800hrs to 1830hrs, 52 weeks per year, not including bank holidays. The nursery is managed on behalf of the University by Bright Horizons, who provide high quality care in a friendly and stimulating environment. Telephone: 01483 617710.
Season ticket advance
To help you to pay for your travel to work by bus or train, you can apply for an interest-free season ticket advance. This is available to full and part time members of staff employed on University contracts of employment of one year or more. Buying an annual season ticket is generally cheaper than purchasing monthly or weekly tickets, with some train and bus operators offering an annual ticket for the equivalent price of 40 weekly tickets. If you only wish to travel by public transport during certain months of the year, you can now also apply for a season ticket for any period of 6 months or more.
You can apply for an advance for three different types of season ticket:
- Rail ticket which is valid for at least six months
- Bus ticket which is valid for at least six months
- University Arriva annual Travelcard
