Suzath Hussain – IT Operations (MBA, EC Council Certified CISO)
Having had a long leadership career in Digital and Technical services within the Further Education sector, I took the opportunity to join, what has proven to be a highly progressive move into Higher Education space joining the University of Hertfordshire in 2012. Over the past 11 years, and those years have flown by, my career has progressed significantly having now held several positions within the senior leadership team which has clearly demonstrated to me that the opportunity to develop is firmly at the heart of the University ethos.
As the Head of IT Services Operations, I currently have the pleasure and good fortune to both lead and take responsibility for the development of the University’s IT infrastructure, Cyber Security, Systems and Processes under the guidance and insightful leadership of David Gillard, Chief Information & Digital Officer.
Systems Operations
Responsible for server systems, OS patching, database systems, printing, storage, Directory services, Authentication, M365 platform, data backup, and collaboration technologies.
Networks and Telecommunications
Data and Wi-Fi network infrastructure management/development and telephony services. Border and Data Centre security.
User Computing and Applications
Business applications maintenance and end-user computing development and support.
Cyber Security
Oversee SOC, Identity Protection, systems vulnerability assessment and management.
Identity Management
User account provisioning/de-provisioning, Identity protection and governance.
In addition to the above, I am responsible for information security standards, policies, audits and compliance.
