The role of Deputy Director (Capital Development) will be an integral part of the Estates Planning and Services Senior Management Team and provide strategic focus and strong operational leadership for the team leading on the delivery of a wide range of capital investment programmes and projects.

The estate strategy is developing and a long-term programme of major capital investment is planned. It is expected that the development plan will see major investment an extensive master plan across the whole estate with a focus on the development of their 4 main campuses.

Reporting to the Director of Estates, this is a new senior post within the existing structure and will have overall responsibility for the programming and project management (including financial and project), delivery and reporting of all capital spending projects within the Estates Planning & Services team. This will include the development of stronger governance across the whole University underpinning the development of all projects and programmes of work linking them directly to longer term planning for the University’s estate strategy.

A demanding yet highly rewarding leadership role, they are seeking an individual with a proven track record of managing and delivering numerous capital projects/programmes across large scale, complex, high-footfall estates portfolios.

Demonstrating strengths in stakeholder engagement/management, you will be a natural leader, a collaborator with strong interpersonal skills and high-level influencing abilities. You will have experience of managing a capital team, external client’s, consultants and a complex array of stakeholders.
