Professional Development

  • Professional development is central to the staff experience – so staff can be at the 'top of their game' in their roles now, and in the future and ready for role progression if they choose, within the University or beyond

  • Professional development falls into two categories:

    • Mandatory – training that is important for all staff to complete to be an active citizen of the University, forming part of your probationary period

    • Tailored – we have a wide variety of training opportunities to pursue, matched to your role and career aspirations, ranging from leadership development, management development, learning and teaching, research, technical, professional, digital and mentoring

  • PDR (appraisal) happens twice a year and this is when you should focus on discussing your development in your role now and in the future
