Services provided

  • Project 49: A progressive and prominent community based day opportunities service for people with learning disabilities supporting up to 100 people per day.
  • Viking House: A specialist person centred day opportunities service for people with profound disabilities and associated conditions support up to 35 people per day.
  • Delaware House: A 24 bedded multi-purpose residential facility supporting both people with complex conditions relating to advanced stages of dementia and people who require short term residential placements following discharge from hospital. The service is rated GOOD by CQC.
  • Priory House: A 28 bedded multi-purpose residential facility supporting both older people who are very frail and people who require short terms residential placements following discharge from hospital. The service is rated GOOD by CQC.
  • Spencer House: A supported living scheme providing care and support to 15 tenants with a learning disability, maximising their independence within the local community. The service is rated GOOD by CQC
  • West Street: A supported living scheme providing care and support to 27 tenants with learning disabilities and very complex associated conditions, maximising their independence within the local community. The service is rated GOOD by CQC
  • Longmans and Westwood: Two extra care services providing support to 30 tenants with a range of need primarily physical disability, maximising their independence within the local community. The service is rated GOOD by CQC.
  • Complex Intervention Service: A reablement and rehabilitation service supporting people with very complex needs including strokes and neurological conditions. The service is commissioned to provide up to 900 hours per week of support within the local community. The service is rated OUTSTANDING by CQC
  • SCENT: A domiciliary reablement service supporting people to re-learn daily living skills in order to live independently or with less ongoing care and support. The service is commissioned to provide up to 300 hours per week of support within the local community.
  • Supported Employment: A community based service supporting people predominantly with a learning disability into employment. The service at any one time has over 180 customers in paid employment, work placements or volunteering opportunities.
  • Shared Lives: Supporting people with a learning disability through placements with self-employed carers. Long term, respite and day services are provided within carers’ homes. Over 60 carers are managed by the service, providing placements to over 100 people at any one time. The service is rated GOOD by CQC
  • Provider of Last Resort: SCL acts as the provider of last resort for Southend Borough Council. This includes interventions in the provider market for example failings care homes as well as supporting very complex and challenging placements.
