About Abercarn
Abercarn is the specialist XXL site for Smurfit Westrock UK&I, located in the beautiful Welsh valleys just north of Newport. Surrounded by nature, our unique manufacturing location is an integral part of the local community. Our people, their safety, and our customers are at the heart of everything we do.
Our structure
Smurfit Westrock UK&I's Trade & Speciality Division comprises seven sites, each supporting a diverse customer portfolio. Our General Managers operate a decentralised structure, with local management responsibilities across operations, sales, finance, and HR. They collaborate to share best practices and meet regularly to discuss operational plans and strategic priorities, including health & safety, customer service, budgets, cost initiatives, talent development, and employee wellbeing.
Our Workforce
At Abercarn, our dedicated workforce of 66 colleagues has an average tenure of 11 years. Our team works tirelessly to provide high-quality packaging solutions to over 180 local and national customers, predominantly industrial manufacturers across sectors such as automotive and plastics. Our 129,000 ft² manufacturing facility is the specialist XXL site for Smurfit Westrock UK.
