Why work for us?

work for us iso - main

We aim to not only foster a thriving collaborative community, but to provide the very best career opportunities for everyone, where aspirations can be met. We are committed to engendering a culture where staff at all levels feel proud of ISO, its achievements and of their own contribution to its success.

Our employees, contractors and supply-chain within ISO come from all walks of life. We hire great people from a variety of backgrounds, not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it makes us stronger and helps us all to provide the best possible service for our customers and stakeholders.

A Collaboration Agreement is being developed with our suppliers (pic attached for reference) to help articulate the way in which we are aspiring to operate in the contractual frameworks that are being awarded to ensure we work together effectively and as one-team.

There are 2 important statements we, as a team are delivering towards:

  • ISO Vision: Enabling Collaboration and Changing Lives in a Connected World
  • ISO Mission: Connecting our people, organisations, information, and systems to enable the transformation of business operations and decision making

Manifesto

Our manifesto is a simple one-page document that shows the company we want to be – a Sellafield of which we can all be proud.

It shows our purpose at the top, which explains why we’re here, and the importance of what we do.  It also describes nine behaviours we should all expect to see from everyone working on our mission.  It reminds us that we are all nuclear professionals. Regardless of our role or location, we are all here to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

Having a purpose against our manifesto helps to foster:

  • People do not connect with what you do they connect with why you do it
  • A strong purpose allows us to emotionally connect to why we come to work every day and the difference we are making
  • It helps build pride and passion in what we do
  • It gives us a sense of identity and belonging
  • Purpose needs to be relevant, aspirational, and actively embedded in the whole company

In ISO, we have a group of self-nominated changemakers who are actively supporting the whole of ISO to bring the manifesto to life.

What is ISO doing to Support the Culture Change?

Within ISO we are embarking on a journey to a Target Operating Model (TOM) that will eventually impact us all. This TOM will not only change what we do at work but also the way in which we do it in order for us to be successful.  Our working culture plays a massive part in this, it is the foundations by which all our interactions will be based, this is why we have embarked on a programme to understand our current culture against the backdrop of our Manifesto.

Working alongside our suppliers, we aim to develop a culture that enables ISO to achieve its role in supporting the creation of a clean and safe environment for future generations, through the collaboration with our supply chain in order to leverage best practice and new technologies.

We are still at the early part of developing our culture strategy and are intending to establish working groups to help us shape and embed our desired culture in ISO.
