Outwood Academy Bydales
Outwood Academy Bydales is a popular and highly regarded 11-16 school in the attractive coastal village of Marske by the Sea, in Redcar and Cleveland in Teesside. It is easily accessible from Teesside, County Durham, Darlington and North Yorkshire. The academy’s facilities provide an excellent learning environment for the young people to thrive. The academy has well-developed relationships with its local parishes, local councillors and neighbouring primary schools.
Outcomes for students are strong; for example, the proportion of students achieving a grade 4 or better in English and mathematics is 86%, with 91% in English and 89% in mathematics at grade 4 or better in 2022. The school is one of the top performing schools in Redcar and Cleveland and is delighted to have received an outstanding judgement in its 2018 Ofsted inspection. Inspectors recognised that “Leaders are ambitious and share a common vision. They have high expectations of each other, staff and pupils.” There is a great deal of pride int he high standards that the school culture promotes. Critically, the excellent focus and engagement of the students allows teachers to teach and students to succeed. This is an exciting time to take up the leadership of the school as it continues its outstanding journey under the current Ofsted framework. Your challenge will be to continually inspire staff and students to be exceptional in all they do.
