Support Staff – SO1/2 £33,366 rising to £37,983 pro-rata (Pay Award Pending)

Actual Salary £31,505 rising to £35,873

Full Time Term Time Only plus 3 weeks

From September 2025

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious leader to join our pastoral team as a Head of Year. The post holder will be responsible for monitoring the wellbeing and progress of all pupils in a year group. We are looking for the very best person to guide and support a year group to excellence.
In this role you will report directly to a Teaching Key Stage Leader.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent communication and leadership skills in order to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and external agencies
  • Have high expectations of students and what they can achieve
  • Have significant pastoral experience
  • Have a strong understanding of strategies which address barriers to learning
  • Have a sound knowledge of safeguarding and child protection with the ability to manage complex student needs with professionalism and care whilst being part of a wider safeguarding team
  • Be able to develop and drive new initiatives and innovate practice
