Welcome
Introduction from the CEO
Dear Colleague,
Thank you for your interest in the Learning Community Trust. We are a medium-sized multi-academy trust currently based in Telford and Shrewsbury. The LCT currently comprises of 3 large secondary schools, 4 primary schools and 2 special schools. We are due to open another primary school in September and have additional schools actively in the onboarding process with us. The Trust has a strategic growth plan for further expansion beyond this and enjoys a positive relationship with the LAs and the DfE through our regional contact.
The LCT began in 2017 and has grown at pace. As part of our plan for strategic growth, including expansion at secondary level, we are now expanding the Education Team to improve our offer of school improvement and strategic direction into our schools. The Executive Director will lead a team of three Directors and one Assistant Director, as well as our Attendance and Welfare Team. Our intention is to have Directors for Secondary, Primary and Specialist Education. Our Assistant Director will take a lead in co-ordinating our Pedagogy, Data and Digital Transformation strategies. This structure will allow us to: effectively support our existing schools, including when they need to make rapid progress; to support schools coming into the trust, including those who join us as a sponsor trust; and provide support capacity to other schools outside the trust through agreements, including those commissioned via the DfE offers.
The Directorate will form a key part of the trust structure as we expand our support into schools over the next year, both in the Education and Central Services teams. We are looking for colleagues to join us on that journey and bring their own experience and skills to work within a model of authentic leadership. We are at an important phase in our development of establishing the LCT ethos in our schools and defining how that plays out across the trust and the Directors have a crucial role to play in this. A core part of the role of the Directors will be school improvement and intervention, but more widely they will be the creators and drivers of our educational policies and best practice. As the LCT grows from its small and local trust foundations, it is increasingly important that we maintain an outward face and our Directors will be given the fullest opportunities to do this.
I came to the LCT for its vision: ‘Advancing School, Inspiring Learners, Transforming Communities.’ We are looking for colleagues who understand our schools do not exist in a vacuum and they function best when we take a symbiotic approach with school and community. As we move into our next development phase, creating excellence in this area is something I will be focusing on as CEO. We would like to be joined by colleagues who understand how to out that vision into action within each of our schools and their communities.
