With its own airport, opportunities are ripe for continued investment in the Borough, and the Council is firmly focused on working in partnership with businesses and organisations to build the local economy.

Who doesn’t know the world-famous Southend pier? The popularity of the pier goes from strength to strength, with nearly 370,000 visitors last year contributing to over 7.5m visits to their wonderful Borough. The Council plans further investment in the pier and central seafront to ensure they remain key visitor attractions.

Along with award-winning parks, a vibrant shopping and night-time economy, not to mention numerous cultural and leisure facilities, Southend-on-Sea is a truly great place to be.
