The Council has set out our collective vision and ambitions for the future in the new Lambeth Borough Plan – Lambeth 2030: our future, our Lambeth.

Lambeth 2030 is a borough plan for everyone. It sets out how we will transform and reshape our neighbourhoods and empower our communities so that the Lambeth we see in 2030 is one that is healthier, safer, sustainable, and active in tearing down deep-rooted inequalities. It will bind us to work together, representing the beginning of our journey and collective effort to share the future of Lambeth.

Our vision for finance is to enable change, support the delivery of the vision and ambitions of the borough plan and ensure that finance is at the heart of decision making. Finance has a key role in protecting value – providing strong stewardship of public funds and borough assets; Finance must also drive value – ensuring every pound is spent in the most effective and efficient way; Finance must also add value – engaging with councillors, colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide insightful analysis to inform and influence decision making.

Naturally, we need to attract candidates who are appropriately qualified to do the job and who have extensive practical finance experience. As important as your technical skills will be your positive attitude and approach to innovation are also essential. We need people who are open and collaborative, who embrace and champion opportunities for change and improvement. We want people who naturally look to build strong and engaging relationships with council teams and collaborate across the wider public service and external third party partners and suppliers.
