Transitioning into Education
View Job OpportunitiesTransitioning into Education
Transitioning to a senior role in a school or a trust, could be one of the most professionally rewarding decisions you’ll make in your career.
I can offer my own lived experience of moving from the world of investment banking to becoming the finance director of a large secondary school, later to become an academy trust. The freedom to innovate and improve by bringing my unique skills to the leadership team was particularly refreshing and professionally fulfilling. Seeing firsthand the direct impact that I was able to have on the quality of provision was particularly rewarding.
Perhaps the most exciting thing about a leadership role in education, is the difference you can make to a child’s educational experience. Seeing them enjoy better facilities, improved surroundings and access to the resources that support high quality teaching is far more satisfying than watching an investment bank’s portfolio rise in value.
Investing in young people and their future is the foundation of any society and what better calling could there be than to help secure that foundation.
