My journey
The Recovery support worker role at Intrinsic care group was recommended to me by my sister who was working here for some time and was enjoying her role greatly. I could see how she was growing as a person and developing her interpersonal skills as well as radiating satisfaction at making a difference to someone’s life everyday and I wanted to do just that too.
I joined the company shortly after and I was impressed with the training and support I was receiving from my colleagues and line manager. I was always learning and eager to help. I had the opportunity to work across all sites with a range of service users, with different diagnoses and backgrounds which has been a learning curve. I have enjoyed offering a person centred care and making the service users feel heard and supported.
After a number of months I had the opportunity to be offered to work as part of the Compliance team as an Audit officer. This was a new role for me and was able to work from a different capacity, ensuring staff’s compliance with the company's policy and procedures as well as monitoring service users' health and welfare. I was able to work closely and manage the Audit team as well as work closely with the care team and recovery support workers with one goal in mind, which was to ensure our service users are receiving the best care possible.
After some time in this role, I had the opportunity to be offered Operational Manager. I am loving my role, the impact I am able to make for both the service users and the staff. I am grateful for this opportunity and I would love for you to join me on this journey. I am grateful for the company for always being there for me and the support I have received has been immense. I have always felt supported and pushed outside my comfort zone which I am grateful for as this has helped me to develop as a person as well as within my role.
