Multiskilled Operative Required for HM Prison Service across Yorkshire & North East
Your new company
Hays are the sole provider of Operational and Trade Staff across the UK. We have a number of opportunities available for Handyperson/Joiners for ongoing contract work throughout several of our establishments throughout Yorkshire and the North East.
Your new role
You will be required to work Monday – Friday and can range from 6 hours – 10 hours per day, depending on the job and establishment.
We have local roles, but some travel may be required throughout the region.
You will be responsible for fitting doors, windows and grills throughout the establishments, you will be required to use hand tools as lots of drilling is involved as well as heavy lifting.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have a CSCS card and the following certificates are desired; asbestos awareness, working at heights, manual handling, abrasive wheels.
You must be able to pass a full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS (if required) (Hays and the MOJ are responsible for organising all security clearances and DBS’)
You must hold a valid passport or Full Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address.
You must have proof of National Insurance AND proof of address dated in the past 3 months.
All applicants must be able to provide details of at least 3 years of satisfactory references.

PPE
Safety Helmet with foam insert & chin strap
Hi vis vest/Jacket/Coat
Safety Specs
Gloves
Safety Boots, Steel Mid-Sole
Task specific PPE e.g.
Cut resistant gloves
Impact Goggles/Glasses
Tools (110v or Battery)
SDS Hammer drill & Bits 14mm
4.5” Grinder
Impact driver
110v Leads
Small hand tools, hammers, Jemmy bars, spanners etc
