Hays Executive was tasked with finding a General Manager for the Argentine offices of a leading global Electrical Equipment company with presence across several markets in Latin America. The company has been aiming to grow in market share in Argentina & the region. Our local knowledge and strong network in the regional market allowed us to respond to our client’s requirements quickly and efficiently.

Solution

In close collaboration with the client, we defined the competencies for this highly strategic position and pointed out any key issues, such as updating their salary structure by generating a competitor analysis and salary benchmark including local players. We identified potential candidates that would have the required knowledge of the products and services offered but also of the Argentine market.

Result

After careful analysis and contacting many market leaders and potential candidates, only eight were found that could meet the client’s requirements and their offer. Within two weeks, we were able to come up with a long list of candidates. At 3 weeks, we defined the short list together with the client. After several steps of interviews and within the following 8 weeks, an offer was accepted. A month later the candidate started in his new role.
