Why join us

Why join us?

We’re a trust that stands out in many ways as an employer. When you visit our hospitals you can feel something special about the surroundings, the people and the culture.

We know just how important our employees are to what we do. So, we’ve worked hard to create a trust where you will know you are valued, respected and rewarded. There’s no better place to take your career forward, however you see your future.

Facilities and environment

Our hospitals are modern and well resourced – we know it makes a massive difference to our team to work with the latest equipment. There’s also a big emphasis on making our hospitals bright, vibrant places to be.

Culture and colleagues

New starters, visitors, patients – when people first come to Frimley Health, they can’t help noticing how friendly everyone is. This positive atmosphere gives a genuine boost to employees and patients alike. Plus, there’s always someone there who’s ready to listen or offer support and a kind word when you need it.

We also have a flat management structure which creates a collaborative team approach. We think that makes us more responsive. Senior managers are more available and everyone in the team is valued.

Crucially, the trust’s values have a big influence on the day-to-day working experience. Living these values gives the whole team a shared sense of purpose and direction – and strengthens the team spirit.

Learning and career development

It’s important to us that every employee has the opportunity to reach their full potential. There are a huge range of learning opportunities and activities for both clinical and non-clinical staff – including highly rated preceptorships. You will have your own development plan, linked into the appraisal process and the support of your line manager to follow your ambitions.

You’re encouraged to take control of your own development and identify courses and learning opportunities that will specifically benefit you. Options include management development, clinical skills training, personal skills, IT and health and safety.

We also run career clinics. They help you to explore your future potential and options – you can plan the way forward and gain specific developmental support.

You will be given every opportunity to progress your career – which could mean specialising or earning promotions. As a large trust with many specialist departments across three major hospitals there is enviable scope to develop your career in many different directions.
