Your new role

You will play a key role in the Finance Technical Specialist team and be responsible for ensuring the Council’s capital programme is delivered effectively and accurately, through sound financial processes. You will provide effective, efficient and comprehensive Financial and Technical support. To allow for accurate, timely and reliable Financial data and processes to deliver the Council’s capital accounting, capital monitoring and asset accounting for the Council.
You will business partner with key stakeholders across the Council including project management, asset management and housing to gather and compile information and provide expert financial advice. Working alongside the Chief Accountant and Finance Business Partners to contribute towards the completion of the Council’s Capital and Investment Strategies.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be qualified (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA) with a strong track record of financial reporting and a proven ability to coordinate, implement and control the closedown process for capital accounting. You will have experience in the preparation and reconciliation of Budgets and Statutory Returns and have strong communication skills and business partnering experience to build and manage relationships.
