Your new role

In your new role you will be responsible for delivering an effective finance business partnering service to budget managers by providing high quality financial information, challenge and support. You will prepare annual revenue and capital forecasts, in consultation and partnership with budget holders, ensuring they are in line with corporate procedures, timescales and financial regulations.

You will contribute to the development of services, policies and procedures and ensure that good financial practice is promoted to maintain quality standards and best value. You will also be responsible for assisting the closure of accounts, in accordance with statutory requirements and accounting standards and preparing supporting working papers. You will deputise for senior staff when required at departmental, corporate and inter-agency meetings and provide support to Senior Finance Officers.

What you'll need to succeed

You need to be qualified to Accounting Technician (level 4) or equivalent and have good knowledge, experience and understanding of Finance. You need to have knowledge of SAP Finance or similar IT Finance package/ Enterprise Resource Planning software and a good level of Microsoft Excel and other applications such as, Word, Outlook and Teams. To be successful in this role you will have both attention to detail and have excellent business partnering skills including proven communication, customer service, negotiation and influencing abilities. You will also need to be able to organise and prioritise work effectively, manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines, maintain high standards and complete tasks with the minimum of supervision.

What you'll get in return

This role is currently 100% remote, but the team will move to a hybrid model with at least 2 days each week based in the office in Lewes and for the remainder of the week you can work flexibly.
