"I’ve been with Design ID for over 5 years, joining as the 6th employee back in 2012, and seeing the practice go from strength to strength. My role is Regional Director with responsibility for the Norwich region, however I enjoy the flexibility of being able to work all over the UK and Ireland, with my projects ranging from community buildings in Monaghan, to large multi-storey residential schemes in Manchester and many in-between.

Design ID is a dynamic and exciting consultancy, with a big emphasis on work hard/play hard, and a focus on team spirit and a family feel throughout the studio. When you spend a large part of your week in work it has to be an enjoyable experience, and Design ID always reminds us that family must come first, and there is always the flexibility to commit to family/school engagements in the working day– I can proudly say I have never missed a school sports day or Christmas nativity no matter what my workload is!!

Coming from a large corporate consultancy, I thoroughly enjoy the variety of work we do at Design ID…there really is no project too big or too small, and being a dynamic practice we are well able to tailor our approach to suit the project needs and provide best value to our clients rather than take an approach that this is how we have always done it. The practice is very focused on further development and we are all encouraged, no matter what level, to attend CPD seminars and courses and grow our expertise be it a subject we are already familiar with or something we are interested in and want to learn more about.

"I joined Design ID as a graduate structural engineer in 2011. Senior staff gave me all the support and encouragement that I needed en route to successfully becoming a chartered structural engineer through IStructE. Collaborative working within the office encourages positive knowledge sharing between staff members as well as developing a "family feel", which makes coming to work every day much easier.

A 'can-do', pro-active attitude is at the heart of what I have understood to be one of the main ethos of Design ID. Developing these skills at Design ID has allowed me to tackle a wide range of bespoke and often challenging projects with confidence, knowing that a solution can be found to any problem. Whilst there is a strong hard-working ethos within the office, morale is always on the up as a healthy social scene allows staff to let their hair down at planned activities and events throughout the year.
