We are looking for a talented Finance Director to join the Day Group as a senior member of the management team, and a leader for the entire finance function.

Established in 1947, our expansion and diversification has been achieved by a mixture of both organic growth and acquisition. Still privately owned by one family, but embracing multiple families at every level, we are very proud of our hugely successful business, which provides vital support and materials to the construction and waste sectors.

There has been one constant throughout our 70 years and that is we are an extremely caring business focused on sustainably, and this is at the very heart of our culture for both our employees and customers. We believe this approach has helped ensure an incredibly stable work force of over 550 people, but also a very loyal and diverse customer base.

Despite the devastating impact of COVID on a lot of businesses we have been extremely fortunate and have maintained a very sound performance. In 2020/21 we have increased our turnover to £152.8m and our gross profits have increased by 4.7% to £49.8m.

As the economy recover we are in a very strong position, boasting a first-class workforce, key geographic and strategic locations in the supply chain and having conservative borrowings. Our future scope will be dependent on a passionate leadership team working to continue the successful business strategy, whilst enhancing processes and procedures, embracing technology and developing our people to enhance our performance.
