Your new role
You will support the council in delivering the educational capital programme by providing specific financial advice, developing cost estimates and plans, setting budgets and more.
You will work alongside and provide support to the Head of Capital Delivery and Cost Manager in maintaining and developing systems of financial control and reporting within the Capital Delivery Team.
The role requires effective management and coordination, of accounting and financial management, stakeholder engagement, adherence to accounting, financial, and contract procedures.
You must be able to use your own initiative and creativity when identifying possible situations and developing possible solutions and decision-making.
Your role will also involve maintaining the Capital Delivery’s project cost management system with a view to advising central capital accountants on project cashflow forecasts and outgoing costs against annual and overall budgets.

What you'll need to succeed
A degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant degrees (Real Estate, Building Surveying, etc.)
Knowledge of Commercial and Financial Management, being able to manage budgets.
You will have an understanding of construction considerations for public buildings and educational buildings in particular.
Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with project team members, stakeholders and more.
