My career at Cardinal Wisman began in 2017 when I was appointed as an Unqualified teacher within the English Department. As a school, they were keen to develop me and make sure that I gained my QTS status so that I was able to progress further here. As I had been an UQ teacher for some, I completed the assessment route only into teaching and was able to qualify in a short period of time.
Within my 2^nd year here, I was appointed as Head of Year 10 and am currently 5 years later the Head of Year 9. I have also been appointed as the strategic Careers lead for the whole school. I owe my successes here at Cardinal Wisman not only to my hard work and dedication to teaching, but also to the school and Romero as a whole. The care, attention and desire for people to progress here is better than any other school I have worked. It doesn't feel like I am coming to work every day, it feels like I am coming to something that I enjoy and where I feel valued. Cardinal Wiseman isn't just a school, it is a family and I feel really privileged that I am able to fulfil my God-Given potential here.

I chose Cardinal wiseman because of the excellent learning opportunity presented to me through Blue Sky Learning. Blue Sky, as well as Newman University have provided a well thought out training programme which has prepared me well for my career in teaching. Cardinal wiseman have provided me with all the support, advice, and inspiration I need to become the best teacher and colleague that I can be. Cardinal Wiseman has been an incredible place to work so far. I feel adequately supported by Leadership, and I feel like they care about my practice, which is evident through the varied workshops and CPD that they offer weekly. The job itself is extremely rewarding, and i have an enormous amount of pride for my student and their successes. I have also had many opportunities to further my career, such as being involved with Duke of Edinburgh, coaching opportunities, and a brand-new Fair-trade club!
