About Canterbury City Council

Canterbury City Council is headquartered in the beautiful city of Canterbury which is home to the world-famous Canterbury Cathedral. The Council district includes 27 parishes and provides essential services for people and businesses including social housing, waste collection, planning applications, car parks and many more. Within the heart of Kent, the Council is well connected by the Southeastern rail service to London Charing Cross. Situated a 25-minute drive from the coast, and nearby to the nature reserve Kent Downs, Canterbury is one of the most picturesque and historic cities in England.

The Council is committed in its goal of constant improvement of the services it delivers and is thus undergoing an exciting major change programme to transform how it delivers services to customers and to enhance the customer experience and build a more resilient, flexible and sustainable organisation. Underpinning this is a new organisation structure, new operating model and the implementation of Salesforce as an enabler to deliver digital services directly to customers and embrace the fact that more and more customers are serving themselves online.
