Welcome
Message from the Headteacher
Burnage Academy is an 11-16 all boys High School with 881 students on roll, and around a third of our boys are disadvantaged. We host a very wide range of heritage groups and a large proportion of our boys have English as an additional language.
We are a recently graded Outstanding school and the performance of our boys is in the top 3% of non-selective schools in the North West of England.
We have incredibly high standards, but we have staff who are very much supported to thrive. They are hugely invested in their school and tend to stay long term because of the investment in them as people and in their professional development. I would urge you to read the comments from some of our staff in the About Us section
When I first walked into our school, I instantly felt at home and it rightly felt like a very special place. Our boys were polite and respectful, they were confident and ambitious and they spoke with pride about their school and the tremendous sense of community. Teachers were clearly talented and committed, lessons were purposeful, and learning was at the heart of the school. We are proud of every single one of our boys and that is why they achieve so well. We have fantastic teachers who are dedicated to giving their absolute best every single day and our boys know how lucky they are.
I’m privileged to lead a school where our focus is solely on boys and ensuring they are valued, enriched and striving to always ‘be the best that they can be’.
Burnage is a great school and a great place to work, I look forward to hearing from you.
