BSP M&E consulting engineers were set up in 2001 to provide a quality service to clients a “cut-above-the-rest”. We have always specialised in all types of buildings, and our clients continue to come from all manner of sectors.

We have grown the core of the firm to a strong team of experienced, dedicated and longstanding engineers with wide-ranging capabilities from refurbishment to new build projects for public and private sector clients.

A pattern of repeat clients, who have been appointing us for some years, has emerged over the two decades for which we have existed. This has served us well, during both prosperous and leaner times, shoring up the firm for a stable future.

We believe we have developed a name for ourselves within the consultancy business, not only providing detailed design services but also solving problems for our clients. We make sure our ideas are clearly communicated during the early stages of engagement. We believe our clients are attracted to us because we are eager to offer them an interesting range of options for dealing with design challenges.

Many of our projects require us to contribute to achieving BREEAM, LEED and WELL standards for sustainability. However, when opportunities arise, we also provide original thought, a recent example being as follows:

We are particularly proud of our invention of the “labyrinth natural ventilation” method of free cooling which we have utilised on a number of new build projects. You may have seen an article entitled “Chamber Music” demonstrating the success of this design which was featured in the CIBSE July 2020 Building Services Journal.

Following on from this publicity we continue to encourage our engineers to come up with unique ideas/solutions, produce case studies, provide CPDs, and enter our projects for awards; some of which have borne fruit in the past.

All of our engineers are either chartered engineers or on their way to achieving those qualifications.

We are a SME firm with many office systems and procedures matching those of the big firms from which our values have emerged.

Our current workload includes design, consultancy, energy studies and passive design in the world of:

• Kitchens/Restaurants

• Residences – Private and Social Housing

• Offices/Workplaces

• Conservation Projects

Our current projects include a farm complex with a variety of buildings where the client wants their own energy sources to be completely “off grid” with electrical generation utilising renewable technologies, energy storage and appropriate on-site back-up to suit.
