Your new role This is an exciting role for a Senior Procurement Manager - Strategic Sourcing to play an instrumental part in driving the strategic direction of our sourcing strategy as you lead, develop, and execute commodity strategies within an assigned business unit, directly aligned to an overall business strategy & priorities as well as the business units.
Using your knowledge of their business strategy, you would pro-actively partner with your business unit, at a senior level and work to align the BU’s strategy and needs with the sourcing strategy whilst ensuring that all goods and services supplied are delivered to the right quality, price, and delivery in the safest way.
Alongside this, the Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing leads and manages a small team responsible for the commodities across their aligned business unit, consisting of a Procurement Manager and Senior Buyers. The Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing directly manages, develops, motivates, and inspires them to be an engaged and effective team.
Working with the business and externally, this role is ultimately accountable for managing all aspects of our ‘best in class’ key supplier relationships and for the maximising of supplier productivity across both hard and soft savings.
This role keeps abreast, at a strategic level, of the supplier market outlook, innovation, products, and pricing and uses their market knowledge and information to identify products and suppliers where necessary. They will also facilitate access to supplier innovation and product development within the market.
Furthermore, this role has the opportunity to learn and leverage the global buying power that comes from being part of the Linde group, as they collaborate and work closely with the regional and global teams sharing learnings and best practices of working.
What you'll need to succeed A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar level senior/management procurement role within a large national or global company
Educated to degree level (MSc/MBA) or equivalent would be desired and/or a CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualification
Experienced strategic sourcing/procurement skills demonstrated at a senior level
Demonstrated successful leadership skills across managing people, teams & change with experience in building and engaging an effective team
Proven track record of delivering results ideally within a large networked international company
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to develop positive working relationships both internally and externally, particularly with senior stakeholders
High level of self-motivation, tenacity to drive and deliver results in a high-pressure environment
Excellent level of commercial and business acumen; with an understanding of the nature of our products and services
Proven project management skills with ability to drive continuous improvements, savings, and best practices with ability to influence change successfully cross-functionally at multiple levels
Comfortable working in a complex and changing organisation working in scenarios of ambiguity
Works with integrity, role modelling the behaviours aligned to being an inclusive workplace
