Public Health is an integral part of this vision, responsible for developing the Council into a local authority which actively promotes population health and enables all Birmingham citizens to make healthier choices. The Public Health Division is engaged in a dynamic and diverse range of innovative work at a local, regional, national and international level continually championing the health and wellbeing of all people across the city, but especially the most vulnerable.

We have an exciting opportunity for individuals to join our multi-disciplinary Public Health Division within the Covid-19 Test and Trace team. This is a great opportunity for individuals to join Public Health within the largest Local Authority in the country, and lead work that contributes to Birmingham being a great city that enables people to live healthy and active lives.

These temporary positions all sit within the Test and Trace team, comprising of three different teams:

  • A response team working on rapid health protection response to covid-19 situations and local outbreaks, coordinating local action and support around local issues
  • An intelligence team working on intelligence, data analysis and report collation, and governance, supporting the local outbreak engagement board and the three setting-specific outbreak response cells
  • A communication and engagement team which will lead on community engagement, communication with communities and social media engagement relating to Covid-19 and the local outbreak response.
