I would like to warmly welcome you to the Babington Academy website. We are very proud of our school which is characterised by diversity and inclusion. At Babington we are driven by a moral commitment to ensure that we make a profound positive difference to all who come through the school gates, ensuring that our students ‘grow, thrive and are visible’. We work tirelessly to ensure that students both aspire to, and achieve, success within our no excuses culture of high expectations.

We became Babington Academy (previously Babington Community College), part of the ‘Learning without Limits Academy Trust’, on October 1st 2016. Situated in North-West Leicester we are a larger than average secondary school attracting students from across the city. We have seen rapid growth over the last few years and we are currently expanding, taking an additional 300 students over a two year period. We support many schools locally, nationally and internationally and are proud that we have eight members of staff that are accredited as Specialist Leaders of Education. We were graded as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted at our last inspection in March 2013 and feel that we have continued on a trajectory of improvement since the inspection.

We are designated as a centre of excellence for inclusion following our re-accreditation for the Inclusion Quality Mark (2018 & 2019), and are currently striving to become a Flagship school. In June 2018, we achieved the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) Challenge Award for their provision for More Able Gifted and Talented Pupils. This was followed by being re-accredited with the E-Qualities Award for the third time. The EQualities Award is a national scheme aimed at all schools who want to demonstrate their commitment to equality. Finally, in July 2018 we were re-accredited with the International Schools Award by the British Council.

The achievements aforementioned are very important however what makes me most proud to be the principal at Babington are our amazing students and their achievements and our fabulous staff team. In continuing the journey of improvement at Babington we will ensure that we make a profound positive difference to everyone who comes through the school gates into the school.

By achieving this we will ensure that:

• All students leave Babington with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in a challenging and ever changing world.

• Babington offers an environment in which all students and staff succeed because they have the confidence and resilience to take risks and continually pursue improvement.

• Students leave Babington with the emotional and intellectual literacy to be effective and active global citizens who have qualifications which give them choices alongside a desire to be life-long learners.
