Alsop High School is a very special place to work where morale is high and a strong team spirit underpins all we do. I am so proud to lead a school where visitors frequently comment on the polite, warm and kind nature of students and colleagues alike. Classrooms are focused and our teachers are the expert in the room demonstrating the highest of expectations for all of our students. Holding doors open, shaking hands and treating you with respect our students are a privilege to work with and I believe that once you meet them you will be certain that this is the place for you. We need to dream big for all of our students and our knowledge rich curriculum is broad and balanced with a clear focus on building the cultural capital of the young people in our community.

We are committed to staff development and colleagues are currently undertaking work with Ambition Leadership as part of the Transforming Teaching programme and the NPQs for Middle and Senior Leadership and Headship. Furthermore, we support staff to develop their subject expertise through regional conferences, Research Ed events and a commitment to subject associations. All of our colleagues are part of an incredible team and we have implemented many of the workload saving approaches advocated by the DfE and professional associations; centralised detentions, reduced data drops, whole class feedback and quality assurance which seeks to improve as opposed to judge are all central to our core belief in the value of everyone. We know that happy staff working in an environment of high challenge and low threat provide the bedrock for our successes and you will be joining a team where professional trust and support are part of our DNA.
