Nick Cecil
Business Development Manager
I joined the AEC team in January 2022 coming from a career in education and management as well as directing my own business.
Within AEC, I focus on business efficiency, management systems, marketing, contracts/policies, HR and staff training as well as business development opportunities.
When holding interviews I often get asked “What’s my favourite thing about working at AEC?”, my answer is always the same “It’s the people I work with; they are genuinely such a good, diverse group of people who are such a pleasure to work with every day.”
Marlene Martins
Project Manager / Chartered Architect
I joined AEC as a Project Manager in 2022 and I focus on bringing a project to life, ensuring clients get the most out of the process from inception to handover and provide a keen eye for detail whilst ensuring client’s needs, professionalism and expectations are met.
As a growing company AEC is a great place to develop professionally.
My favourite thing about working for AEC is it’s diversity and having staff members that you can share your knowledge and experience with and have the same reward in return.
Ricky Chan
Trainee Funding Consultant
In 2021, I graduated from the University of Essex with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Criminology. After working across various industries including hospitality, retail, construction and education, I joined the AEC bid writing team as a Trainee Funding Consultant and I haven’t looked back since.
My work experience and academic background have equipped me with an extensive skill set to excel and support both the Funding Team and my clients. Through the training opportunities and practical experience available at AEC I am rapidly extending my knowledge of building consultancy and estate management.
My favourite thing about working for AEC is the variety of tasks within my daily duties, paired alongside the wonderful support from all my colleagues, I can proceed with my duties confidently and participate in a diverse range of tasks.
Giedre Stakaityte
Apprentice Building Surveyor
I joined AEC in May 2022 after finishing my first year of BSc (Hons) Building Surveying degree at Anglia Ruskin University. I joined AEC to kick-start my career by moving onto a Building Surveying Apprenticeship Degree.
Since beginning my employment with AEC, I have collaborated closely with the project management team, where I have had the opportunity to connect with clients and contractors to better understand the projects, acquire crucial knowledge and skills as well as obtaining first-hand surveying experience.
I envision that I will continue to develop within AEC, working towards my chartership.
My favourite aspect about working at AEC is every day is different, the company is always evolving and it’s a continuing adventure with plenty of exciting challenges along the way.
Lisa Nash
Team Administrator
I joined the AEC team following a 14 year career in the Health Care sector.
At Academy Estates, I support the Funding Consultants and Project Management Team in coordinating projects, documentation and delivering an exceptional customer/client experience.
My favourite thing about working at AEC are the people I work with and the opportunities I have to learn new skills.
