About us
We are a rural village primary school on the western edge of the Lake District. Classes are small and we offer a friendly, caring atmosphere, with full wrap-around care facilities. Children attending are aged 2-11 years. Presently there are around 50 children within school. At Arlecdon School, all the staff and governors are committed to creating the right environment, culture and level of support to enable every pupil to reach their full potential.
In January 2013, Arlecdon began working with Thornhill Primary School under an Executive Headship arrangement. In September 2020, the school officially federated with Thornhill Primary school under a joint Governing Body, joining the West Lakes Multi- Academy Trust in 2019.
We do everything we can to keep our pupils safe:
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Staff have a good awareness of the indicators of abuse and procedures to be followed should they be concerned about a child’s welfare. There is a strong culture of safety within the school.' ( OFSTED- 2016)
Since September 2019, Arlecdon School has been part of the West Lakes Multi-Academy Trust.
