The role of education and training within social care is an integral part of the delivery of safe, effective, intuitive, and progressive care. We believe that training and education never ends.
The standards within Social Care Wales are the mainstay of our ethos and are embedded through the initial induction process, through the first year of employment and beyond into our staff’s career progression. All staff receive an initial face-to-face induction followed by a blended training approach of online, face-to-face and coaching and mentoring within the services.
Here at M&D Care we believe passionately in the quality of learning and understand the importance of providing the right environment for our staff and the people we support, which enhances the training experience and help embed the learning. Our dedicated training centre has been designed with the concept in mind that the key to providing excellent service standards, starts with providing exceptional training.
Recognising talent
We are proud of our progressive training management, and where talent is recognised, providing opportunities for progression through the roles within the company. We do this through our talent spotting and tailored training programs from senior to trainee manager, to deputy, to manager education paths. QCF as the recognised model within care for baseline education is considered the minimum requirement within the company and as such, we aspire to a 90% compliance with start date for new employees being within three months.
