SFC is the national, strategic body that invests £2 billion every year in tertiary education, research, and knowledge exchange, through colleges and universities. Our mission is to create and sustain a world-leading system of tertiary education, research and innovation that changes lives for the better, enriches society, and supports sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

As one of the biggest investors of public funds in Scotland, we make a huge contribution to Scotland’s economy and wellbeing, securing impact and quality outcomes for students, employers, and wider social and economic objectives.

Our decisions and policy making are underpinned by extensive data and analytics and we are committed to championing the contribution that both we and our sectors make to the economic, social, and cultural life of Scotland and beyond.

SFC is a fantastic place to work, with an important role in society, a national platform, and a dedicated, expert, and motivated workforce. This is an exciting time for us. Following a national Review of our mission, we are refocusing our priorities, operations, and capabilities, to add even greater value and make a difference for Scotland.

As part of our new Data & Analytics design, we will be introducing a Data Engineering team to deliver on the area where technology and data meet, focusing on making data efficient smart, and integrated with our daily and strategic needs; whilst our Analytics team will focus on delivering impactful and evidence-based insight from deep quantitative and qualitative analysis of a wide range of data to support and drive our strategic goals.
