Support worker

Hays Social Care are working with some of the leading organisations in the country, based in Swindon and the surrounding areas. Our clients provide vulnerable individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to have fulfilled lives and gain further independence.

We are looking for full-time female support workers to work with a gentleman in a supported living setting with learning disabilities and visual impairment. Our client can present behaviours that challenge so experience in this kind of environment is essential. Personal care is required although it is mostly assisting. You must be able to drive due to the location of the service. We are looking for a 37 hour a week placement with the potential to go permanent if desired. You will also be supporting our client with days out and activities, food preparation, social activities and helping them to access the community. You must confident to work alone.

Hays Social work directly with providers to enable people to work towards personal goals and needs. Our clients work closely with each individual and their families to make sure each care programme is carefully personalised; including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, guided leisure time, vocational training and independent living skills where needed.

Most activities will tend to be either one to one or in small groups and involve social events, plenty of trips out and accessing to the community. You Will Need: - Experience with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs - Professional Attitude - Passionate about Care - A Willingness to Travel - You must be organised, a good communicator and self-motivated.
