An exciting opportunity to work for an independent dementia specialist provider based in the Forest of Dean!

Your new company
Hays Social Care are working alongside a independent family run care home who have been operating for over 20 years. The lies in a tranquil, rural setting in the Forest of Dean. The home comprises of 8 bedrooms ensuring a personalised, family environment where every individual need can be met by a familiar, consistent staff team.
This is a rare opportunity for a role of this nature to become available at the home.

Your new role
As the deputy manager for this care home you will work closely with the registered manager and owner of the service to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the home.
Your role will consist of both management and hands on care responsibilities, with this broken down into a 50% split.
You will take the lead role in rota planning, medication audits / ordering, care planning and deputise for the registered manager during holidays and sickness.
Due to the nature of the service (Dementia specialist) you will need to be a calm individual who can generate rapport with our residents quickly and effectively.
You will assist with on-call duties and participate in a variety of shifts.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful you will need to have a background in care, ideally within a dementia or nursing specialist service.
You will hold a minimum of an NVQ level 3 within Health & Social Care and be willing to work towards (if not already obtained) an NVQ Level 5 within Leadership & Management.
You will have a sound knowledge of CQC regulations, be able to write, review and update care plans.
