Crisis Support Worker needed in Bristol to support high risk victims of domestic violence


Your new company
You will be working for an excellent supported housing organisation specialising in Domestic Violence and Sexual Violence in Bristol. You will be working for an organisation who provide practical support, advice and advocacy to female or male survivors of domestic violence and their children. The organisation focuses on empowering survivors to increase their options, make positive choices and increase their confidence, safety and recovery.

Your new role
You will be working with high support victims of domestic violence by responding to emergency and crisis situations with providing support, advice and interventions where necessary.
You will be working with women where risk of tenancy breakdown is an issue and will work with them to prevent homelessness. You will be carrying out needs and risk assessments, carrying out risk management, safety planning and attend specialist courts and MARAC as required. You will work with other agencies to provide mental health and substance misuse support. You will help women to feel safe in their own homes or move to refuge where necessary.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience in a high support environment with vulnerable women or victims of domestic violence. You will need knowledge of risk management, safety planning, diffusing crisis situations, criminal and civil legal remedies and housing law relating to domestic abuse and a thorough understanding of safeguarding and the welfare and benefits system.
This is a varied role and this list is not exhaustive.

You will need a current, full driving license and access to your own vehicle.
