Your new role

Our client has a residential home in the outskirts of Gloucester that supports children with emotional, behavioural disabilities.

Set in a beautifully renovated barn, the home is situated in picturesque countryside with easy access to local amenities.

We are looking for an experienced children’s support worker to join the team at our child-centred home, where the people we support are enabled to grow in all areas of their lives, to work towards emotional stability and to develop to their full potential.

You will be working closely with the Registered Manager and deputising for them in their absence to ensure the day-to-day running of the home.

You will be responsible for the care of the young people. A large part of this role entails acting as a positive ‘parenting’ role model by cooking, tidying, cleaning, laundry, organising healthy menu planning, arranging, transporting and supporting young people to access and attend education, meetings, health appointments, and other events. You will be accompanying young people with activities, holidays and weekends away, implementing and following bedtime routines, and promoting the importance of personal hygiene and all other duties that a responsible caring parent would undertake.

You will also be involved in creating, maintaining and reviewing care plans, behaviour management plans and designing individual packages to meet identified needs.

You will promote positive family contact for our young people and oversee supervised contact sessions where necessary. This role will include sleep-ins and weekend and Bank Holiday work on a rota basis.
