CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLES COMMISSIONING MANAGER,SEND

Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, in partnership with Southend CCG is currently seeking to appoint a Children & Young People’s Commissioning Manager for the SEND Team on a full time, fixed term basis for 12 months. The Integrated Commissioning Team holds a wide ranging and interesting portfolio of projects spanning health, social care and education. The successful applicant will be a truly innovative and capable individual, able to work with and influence key stakeholders to deliver key priorities.
This fixed term/secondment position will lead the development and implementation of a Joint Commissioning Framework for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The team needs a first-class dynamic individual who is innovative, flexible, responsive, resilient and persuasive with the ability to promote their vision and bring partners, professionals and stakeholders with them on this exciting journey as they develop new ways of working and their person centred approach to supporting children and young people with SEND and their parents and carers.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have a detailed knowledge of Children and Families Act 2014 and associated SEND Code of Practice: 0 to 25, together with a true awareness of the impact of SEND on individuals and their families. They must have a proven track record of delivery but above all an ability to work flexibly as a member of the Integrated Commissioning Team, demonstrating a broad experience of commissioning, service redesign, innovation & implementation.
