Hays Recruitment have been retained by a universal fit out specialist in their recruitment of an Estimator. Established in Belfast in 1975, they are a multi-award winning, innovative interior fit out specialist. Working for the biggest names within retail, hospitality and office development, they currently operate with a turnover of approximately £40m. With high profile clients, and bespoke and high-end projects, they are experiencing substantial business growth, and as such, they now require an Estimator to join their existing Commercial Team.

Your new role
Reporting to the Estimating Director, the successful candidate will work closely with the contracts teams to determine the costs associated with completing the scope of work in a tender. Main duties will include the preparation of cost estimates, organising bids, communicating with clients, colleagues, supplies and sub-contractors to determine the financial needs of completing a project. You will use fit out industry experience and knowledge to provide detailed estimates for client projects, including full written cost estimates for client projects, including full written cost estimates entailing labour and material build ups and preliminaries.

What you'll need to succeed
Candidates must possess a third level qualification in a construction related discipline, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of experience, and have a proven track record in estimating new build and/or fit out type projects. Excellent IT skills and experience in the use of Microsoft office, particularly Excel, Word & Outlook are necessary. The ideal candidates will be articulate, pro-active with excellent commercial acumen and communication skills. The ability to work on your own initiative and to strict deadlines in a fast and dynamic environment is a necessity.
