As the largest single funder of free debt advice in England we helped almost 1.26 million people with debt advice, money guidance and pension guidance in the 2019/20 financial year.

Money touches every aspect of our lives. Money guidance is often given as part of wider services provided by thousands of diverse organisations and practitioners.
As Interim Head of Insight and Evaluation you will be responsible for co-ordinating and directing a team of c20 subject matter specialists as well as collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across the business providing an internal consultancy service, raising the profile of the division with the Board and Non-Executive Directors.
It has a visible external aspect from participating on panels as a trusted voice on research, insight and evaluation to engaging a broad ecosystem of senior stakeholders within organisations across the sector.
This is a high profile, critical role within the organisation to provide the strategic insight, research and evaluation analysis that positions the Money and Pensions Service as a thought leader in financial wellbeing. It provides an important service to those whose need it most, based on robust and respected insight and evidence framework that ensures that high quality money and pensions guidance and debt advice is given and evolves in line with regulatory guidance.
Responsibilities will include, acting as the insights lead for the UK Strategy for Financial Wellbeing, ensuring that the strategy is thoroughly grounded in credible insight and evidence and working effectively across the organisation, particularly with the Chief Data Officer. You will also be commissioning high quality insights, evaluation, and analysis to support decision making and the evaluation of MaPS own services and the evidence base for financial wellbeing e.g. service evaluation; large-scale quantitative surveys, qualitative research, evidence reviews etc.
To succeed here you will have proven experience of managing an insights, evaluation, and statistics team in a relevant sector. Have proven ability in the production, interpretation and application of strategic customer and market insights/market research (both qualitative and quantitative) and organisation- level evaluation analysis. Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement experience is essential as well as a background in presenting to wide audiences both internally and externally.
The role will be offered on a fixed term contract basis expected to run through to March 2022, paying c£95,000 pro rata & benefits.
