Your new job in Hays
Due to established performance and growth in our Engineering business, our Watford office has two exciting opportunities for you to be part of a growing and ambitious team. Our Defence Engineering business covers the project development life-cycle for the UK Defence, from R&D through to decommissioning. We are doing exciting things within the UK Defence sector, working with many of the Prime Sub-contractors delivery Top Secret programmes for the UK Ministry of Defence.
You will be a true expert in your field, advising businesses and candidates on recruitment and career strategy within your chosen sector. Some typical job opportunities you would work on:
Defence Project Manager | Project Planner | Electrical Design Engineer | Mechanical Design Engineer | Thermal Engineer | Rocket Scientist (well, not far off!)
Some key aspects of the role will include working closely with colleagues to identify opportunities to collaborate, identifying opportunities that promote company approved products, presenting at external meetings representing the Hays brand, managing the penetration of your market according to an agreed development strategy and developing new and existing business using effective, appropriate and ethical sales methods. Ultimately, you will work to exceed targets set to generate and fill vacancies in your technical space and geographic remit with the full and significant support of the Hays Leadership team.

What you’ll need to succeed
Ideally you will have Defence / Engineering recruitment experience from an agency environment, be confident in the development of new business, both targeting new clients and nurturing existing Hays relationships and able to display that you are adept at dealing with a diverse portfolio of clients. If you are new to recruitment, either starting or changing careers, then core competencies will include the ability to build and solidify lasting relationships, deliver exceptional customer service, having a results-driven approach and a genuine passion for evolving your knowledge of Engineering and Recruitment. If experienced, you will likely have a proven track record of consultative partnership development, evidence of delivering consistent new business and growing existing, and be able to demonstrate effective selling and presentation techniques to showcase our products and services to the customer.
