Business Development Manager (Social Care)

Business Development job within Unqualified Social Care for one of the UK's leading recruitment agencies

Role objective
To increase revenue year on year by managing a portfolio of customers and maximising revenue from this portfolio consisting of spending and non-spending clients

Key result areas;
Fee performance
  • Meet individual budget
  • Contribute to team budget

Business development
  • Maximise fee revenue through effective retention and mushrooming of key clients and delivering consistent growth in unique client spenders each period.
  • Develop deep knowledge of your portfolio, mapping organisational structure including Organisational hierarchy, identify usage for daily shift, long term, contract and perm hiring across front line & management roles
  • Tactical sales activity with other users to pick up ad hoc requirements and target users to become established Hays clients.
  • Utilise appropriate marketing resources to support effective business development
  • Demonstrate excellent relationship building, sales and service skills that deliver outcomes
  • Actively network within target market by identifying appropriate opportunities and or creating your own
  • Lead with multi-faceted sales approach inclusive of recruitment services of sub-specialisms alongside digital platforms
  • Track and develop new client settings in specific geographical area inclusive of deal clients, local & national chains, SME and standalone providers.
  • Follow up all leads passed by dedicated Recruiter team
  • Meet all marketing, events, call and client meeting targets and achieve planned outcomes
  • Target & build Senior Decision Maker relationships with agreed client portfolio

Job management & client management
  • Demonstrate excellent consulting skills by questioning clients to ascertain needs and presenting the most appropriate solution
  • Provide expert, specialist advice and recommendations in a timely matter, demonstrating a sense of urgency
  • Manage client expectations in line with market conditions and the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Facilitate the end to end recruitment process as per contract recruitment procedures
  • Ensure Terms of Business are presented and agreed with client
  • Negotiate effectively with client in line with margin guidelines
  • Effectively manage any client dispute, or escalate as appropriate
  • Sign clients into Partnership Agreements
  • Pass all live jobs to Recruiter team and manage the process with them, supporting to source candidates and match candidates in a time effective manner
  • Support Recruiter to present client with recommended candidate attraction strategies
  • Periodic service review meetings alongside recruiter team to review service levels and delivery

Candidate management
  • Work with Recruiter to ensure effective use of the database, Hays Hub and systems to source candidates
  • Work with Recruiter to ensure they utilise a broad range of candidate attraction strategies, including Training providers, LinkedIn, websites, Social Sourcing and candidate events
  • Assess and validate candidate skills once presented by the Recruiter and before submitting to the client
  • Establish action plans with Recruiters for candidates
  • Represent candidates effectively to clients by phone, face-to-face, via resume or by profile report to all new business in client portfolio
  • At all times adhere to the principles of relevant recruitment legislation

Systems engagement and effectiveness
  • Document all business activity including client, candidate and job information accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to all relevant legislation and policies, including Social Media
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining data integrity in line with current initiatives
  • Assist other members of staff in maximising their use of the database and Hays Hub

Service delivery
  • Adhere to Hays recruitment methodology and service delivery standards
  • Continuously work to improve the quality of customer service to clients and candidates
  • Ensure compliance to preferred supplier contracts and service level agreements

  • Adhere to company compliance standards and all current legislative requirements,
  • Escalate any non-compliance or legislative issues to management and Compliance Manager immediately

  • Escalate any concerns to management
  • Provide constructive feedback to Recruiter team from clients and action plan areas for improvement, highlighting areas for training to management
  • Manage SLAs of Recruiter team
