Your new role
In a nutshell as a recruitment consultant, you will help find fulfilling career moves for job seekers and source the best talent for our clients. Its fast paced, dynamic, exciting and every day you’ll make a lasting impact.
As a trainee recruitment consultant with Hays Office Support in Belfast, day to day duties will include;
- Advertising vacancies by drafting and placing job specs on a range of media
- Offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression
- Database management/ administrative duties
- Vetting through job applications
- Interviewing candidates
- Creating a shortlist of candidates for the client
- Cold calling businesses
- Visiting clients to build and develop positive relationships
- Negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between clients and candidates

What you'll need to succeed
There's not one typical person that makes a good Recruitment Consultant. You’ll need to demonstrate that your sales driven, results-focused, and possess an ambitious drive to succeed. Recruitment is hard work and it takes time and perseverance to achieve results, so resilience, persistence and determination is key. You need to be passionate about people, outgoing and confident.
Coming on board as an associate consultant you will have access to one of the best associate training programmes in the industry. Alongside training, you will be fully supported by some of the best consultants, Managers and Directors in our UK business, based right here in Belfast. We’ll show you how to utilise the best sourcing channels in the industry. You’ll attend meetings with our clients and learn the expectations, technical requirements and cultural fit for jobseekers to succeed at their new company.
