Thank you for visiting the Carlton Academy Trust site, and I hope it conveys the dynamism, high standards and ambition we have for our students.

I am genuinely excited for the future of the trust and its plans’ for the next few years, and I am sure we can continue the rapid improvement journey that saw our founding school – Carlton Bolling – go from ‘Special Measures’ to ‘Outstanding’ in less than two years, gain accreditation as a ‘World Class School’ and being voted Secondary School of the Year in the 2019 BBC National Teaching Awards.

The quality of our staff has been critical to our success, and we always want to speak with people who share our ambition and ethos of ‘Excellence for All’. Trust leaders have clear plans for the future, but then ensure they do all they can to support and look after staff in order to reach these goals. Therefore, we place a high premium on the outstanding behaviour and conduct of our students, small class sizes, streamlined yet highly efficient procedures, and desire to keep bureaucracy and meetings to an absolute minimum so that teachers can do far more of what they came in to the profession to do – plan and deliver high quality lessons!

We also invest heavily in training, with regular and bespoke INSET provided by exceptional practitioners, so as to ensure staff become the very best version of themselves. This has proven highly effective and successful over recent years, with many of our middle and senior leaders on a very rapid trajectory in to these roles and beyond.
