Why Bournemouth 2023 Hero
Why Bournemouth 2023 Block
Famous for its seven-mile stretch of award-winning sandy beaches, Bournemouth is quite simply one of the most stunning coastal towns in the country.
With a population just shy of 200,000 and a thriving hub for a number of industries including the creative, financial and tourism sectors, Bournemouth offers the hustle and bustle of a vibrant town combined with a life by the sea.
But it’s not just about the amazing beaches (although we have to admit they are pretty special); the New Forest National Park is on our doorstep and the Jurassic Coast (which is a World Heritage site) is just a short drive away. Plus, we are less than two hours from London (with direct trains to Waterloo) and we’ve got an international airport.
With just shy of eight hours of summer sunshine a day and some of the best beaches in the world, it’s not hard to see why Bournemouth attracts 3.5 million visitors every summer.
Bournemouth boasts a lively, diverse and multifaceted town centre, with loads of choice when it comes to coffee shops, pubs, bars, clubs, music venues, theatres and restaurants.
The shops in town offer a good mix of high street brands, department stores and independent boutiques, while Bournemouth Square, the heart of the town centre, comes to life throughout the year, with a range of events taking place.
During July and August, the Square plays host to Summer Live, with live music, live art demonstrations, an outdoor garden bar, and much more.
